Festival Management Team

MI Green Team has assembled a team of experienced and dedicated marketing, programming and development professionals committed to making the MI Earth Day Fest the planet's largest and liveliest Earth Day event. Check out their biographies below and feel free to email them with any questions or comments.  

John Batdorf, Event Manager

John barely graduated from Grand Blanc High School but had a lot of fun. After studying abroad for a year, he attended Michigan State University where he graduated with high honors. He worked as a computer store manager and national dealer sales director before founding CIVITEC Healthcare Computer which grew to 15 employees. After selling the company, John worked as a business consultant and managed AVANTE' Modeling & Talent, named AMTC Agency of the Year in 2002 and 2003. In 2004, John joined the board of Upland Hills Ecological Awareness Center in Oxford, MI and co-founded the Earth Day Expo. In 2008 & 2009, John was the Executive Director of UHEAC. In 2010, John co-founded and managed the MI Earth Day Fest. As general and event manager for MI Green Team, John continues to produce a variety of events and programs to promote green business, community and living. His eco-passion extends to a vegan/organic diet, electric/hybrid vehicle, and regular enjoyment of Rochester's many natural wonders.

Jennifer Kincer, Entertainment Manager & Emcee

Jennifer Kincer is coming into her 20th year as a vocal coach and artist development consultant. Her students range in age from six to sixty. In addition to private lessons, Jennifer has vocal coached/music directed a variety of singing groups. Jennifer has vocal coached the professional, Texas based pop group, Savvy. Savvy who touring in the U.S and internationally. The members of this five person pop group are also the lead characters in their own internationally popular TV show, "The Wannabes," of which Jennifer plays a role in the episode "Earth Day." Jennifer's newest singing & dancing pop groups, The Violettes & Violettes Jr, bring her great joy as they encompass some of the best young singing talent in Michigan.Her own group UltraViolet performed this past December for the Lt. Governor at the pretigious Reagan Dinner. UltraViolet & The Violettes were featured singing and dancing on Channel 7 -WXYZ as well as on Fox 2 with Jay Towers. Jennifer currently teaches vocal lessons at Kincer Catallo Private Voice Studio. She has taught at the Rochester Conservatory of Music as well as other studios throughout the years. Jennifer's students are very active in their performing, some of which are touring, recording original music and singing professionally. Jennifer holds a Master of Music degree and two Bachelor of Music degrees in Vocal Performance & Music Education from Oakland University, where she has been on faculty in the Music, Theater & Dance Department for the past ten years. Not only does Jennifer develop an outstanding entertainment program each year, she acts as the event's spokesperson, manages its main stage, and acts as the event's emcee.

Jim Leidel, Operations Manager

Jim Leidel has been involved in the energy and energy management industries since his graduation from Purdue University with a BS in mechanical engineering in 1990. From 1991 to 2001, he worked in various positions with Invensys Building Systems (formerly Barber-Colman) and Detroit Edison, followed by 10 years as Energy Manger for Oakland University’s Facilities Management Department. In 2011, Jim helped create the Clean Energy Research Center within the School of Engineering and Computer Science at OU and moved over to be the Director of Clean Energy Systems. Jim help to found the Earth Day Expo at Oakland University in 2006 and has been involved each year since.

Steve Litz, Outreach Manager

Steve has worked in marketing and business development in healthcare and recently, the emerging electric vehicle supply industry(EVSE), in metro Detroit. Steve enjoys working in start up companies and enjoys the challenge of developing a successful business model. He currently works in New Vehicle Sales at Matthews-Hargreaves Chevrolet, He has participated as an exhibitor and volunteer in several MGT events, and returns as volunteer/operations manager for the second year. He has been married to his wife June for 39 years and has 2 children (Lori and Scott). 

Tami Rea, Education Manager 

Tami worked as a registered nurse for 16 years. After undergoing breast cancer she became passionate about disease prevention, detoxing using food, and choosing safer products for your home. Tami is a Regional Vice President with Arbonne, and speaks regularly on Healthy Living For Busy People.

Cyndi A. Summers, Publicist & Media Partnership Manager

Cyndi is a top-notch communicator with clients in health, food, environment/sustainability, retail, entertainment, nonprofits and marketing/PR. Publicist, writer/editor, project manager, strategist. Penchant for progressive causes, extraordinary organizations and the "greater good." Along with outstanding publicity, Cyndi provides development and management of the event's many significant media partnerships.

Debbie Stachel

Business & Community Development

Debbie’s focus at MiGreen Team is to help companies connect with the growing audience of consumers who are interested in healthier, earth-friendly lifestyle choices. Debbie has 25 years experience working in Corporate Partnership marketing. She was Executive Director of Marketing Promotions at Palace Sports and Entertainment which included concert venues, NBA basketball and minor league teams. Prior to that, Debbie worked in radio and national tour bookings of music artists.
