A Green Event

Offering attendees drive & drop recycling is just part of an event-wide effort to provide an eco-friendly experience. Supporting the exhibits and activities are initiatives in energy, materials and design:
  • when available, electricity will be produced on site using biodiesel generator and solar photovoltaic (PV) systems;
  • compostable and recyclable food service disposables will be used;
  • and a web-based event guide, including map and exhibitor/program listings.
  • donations from visitors are used to offset their travel to the event thru the purchase of carbon offset credits.
Behind the scenes, the festival limits paper consumption by using online registration forms, keeping printed marketing materials to a minimum, and using recycled paper when printing is required. Also, the festival gives preference to local suppliers to reduce “embedded energy” and to promote local economy.
