    Invitation to Apply for miEDF Programming

    The MI Earth Day Fest will offer presentations in the Connect Cafe, activities in the Kids Activity tent,  and entertainment at the Main Stage throughout the festival weekend.You are invited to submit your application for presentation, activity or performance before the submission deadline of March 1 (or when schedule is full). 

    Applications will be reviewed for the following criteria:
    • appropriateness for a general audience & green/wellness theme
    • relevance to current publicity, news and topics of public interest
    • anticipated incremental attendance
    • presenter/performer marketing support offered
    • presenter/performer fees and expenses
    • flexibility of schedule
    Call for Presentations

    Presentations on a wide variety of green & wellness topics will be offered throughout the weekend, on the hour, at the Main Stage, Presentation Stage in the Connect Cafe, and at the Kids Corner Activities Area. To apply, click the Register button, and select Presenter registration level.

    In addition, MGT member non-profit organizations are welcome to apply to "table" in the Connections Cafe, where round-tables will be set-up during the entire festival, for exhibits and discussions. To apply, NPO (Trainer) Members can register here.

    Volunteer for the 14th annual MI Earth Day Fest 

    We are looking for eco-friendly faces to volunteer for the 13th annual MI Earth Day Fest in 4 hour shifts. Volunteers will get an official event t-shirt, $10 in concessions vouchers for each shift, and VIP admission including a Whole Foods Market goody bag and $5 gift card, $5 in food vouchers, entry in the door prize drawing, and more.

    Nominate your local green hero!

    The highlight of the MI Earth Day Fest Kickoff & Awards Ceremony will be the sixth annual MI Green Hall of Fame Awards Ceremony, which will recognize the dedication and achievement of a some of Michigan's leading green heroes.

    Nominations will be accepted in a variety of categories including business, education, government, community, individual, and student achievement.

    To nominate an award winner, click the Register button. Enter your (nominator) email address and your name, and feel free skip non-required fields. Enter all required nominee information fields at the bottom of the form.

    The nominee must be available to receive the award on Friday, April 21 at 7 pm, at the MI Earth Day Fest in Rochester to be eligible. We also prefer that the nominator (or representative) be present to provide an introduction of the award recipient. 

    MI Green Team will review nominations upon receipt and select one award recipient in each category. The 2017 MI Green Hall of Fame inductees will be announced by April 7th.

    MI Earth Day Fest Kickoff

    Enjoy live music, networking and celebration. Join media, community leaders, and award winners, as well as event sponsors, managers and supporters, for the kickoff of the MI Earth Day Fest. 

    The one-hour program will be highlighted by the 6th annual green awards ceremony, at which a select number of Earth Day heroes will be inducted into the MI Green Hall of Fame and the talents of the winners of the USGBC Kids Art Contest will be awarded.

    All are welcome to attend and registration is not required. However, seating is limited and will be reserved for registered attendees. To register, click the Register button.

    Donations will be accepted on behalf of the US Green Building Council Detroit Regional Chapter for its green schools programs.

    Join the Earth Day Parade & Pep Rally!


    Bring your non-motorized vehicles, pets, dance-moves and earth-friendly displays and costumes. Meet at the Emagine Entertainment Stage and join in the parade around the duck pond and through the park. The 1/4 mile parade will conclude at the Stage for a Pep Rally. Use your voice, instruments and drums to and make some noise to celebrate our favorite planet! $100 in cash and other prizes will be awarded for largest/loudest group, best Earth Day themed costume, and best display. A VIP goody bag will be provided for every registered group. Everyone with Earth Day enthusiasm is welcome to to participate. Registration is encouraged but not required.     Join RARA to celebrate our favorite planet at the Earth Day 5k Fun Run.The 5K is a scenic loop route through trails, parks and the neighboring subdivisions. All ages are welcome and the route is friendly for pets and strollers. The race will be chip timed and have awards for each age division along with raffle give-a-ways from our sponsors.
